Who am I?
My name is John McNaughton. I'm an exercise physiologist and a strength & conditioning coach, and have been coaching/training people for 20+ years.
My interest in physical training started with Ultimate (frisbee). I wanted to get good, which meant boosting performance and beating injury.
That's led to 20 years playing and coaching at international level, overcoming challenges including ACL rupture, hamstring strain, osteitis pubis, and more.
This journey has given me so many lessons that I get to hand on!
Why I coach
I think I've got one of the best jobs in the world.
1) I've enjoyed the benefits of a healthy, active life, and love that I can help other people experience the same wins.
2) I get to spend my day playing with movement, which makes me feel like a big kid: excitable and energised.
3) I have the privilege of sharing in the lives of my fantastic clients, connecting with people every day.
Who I help
My goal as a coach is to be skilled enough to help anyone, yet mature enough to make sure it's the right fit for results.
I've worked with clients from 11-88 years old, in various sports, pre- or post-surgery, and with a range of complex health conditions. There have been mums and dads, aspiring athletes, and people dealing with pain or injury.
If you've got a goal and a willingness to work hard over time, I think I can make a difference.
